Privacy Policy

The short version: CommandShelf is local-first. Your Markdown vault, commands, and prompts stay on your Mac. We don't have a server that stores your content. The app sends only anonymous, aggregate usage statistics (which you can turn off in Settings) to help us improve it — never your content.

Who we are

CommandShelf ("we", "us") is operated by Agus Tech. You can reach us at agustech.001@gmail.com.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in CommandShelf — Markdown sessions, commands, prompts, notes, and the local SQLite index — is stored only on your own Mac (under ~/Library/Application Support/CommandShelf). We never receive, transmit, or store your vault contents.

Payments & licensing

Purchases of Pro Local are processed through PayPal. When you buy, your payment details go directly to PayPal; we never receive or store your card information. PayPal's handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy. We retain only your order/receipt reference and the email associated with the purchase, to deliver and support your license.

To unlock Pro Local, the app stores your license key and an activation identifier locally, and contacts our licensing endpoint to validate the key (activation, periodic re-validation). This exchanges only the license key and activation identifier — never your vault contents.

Website analytics

This website uses first-party, cookieless analytics to measure visits and improve the site. We do not use cookies, third-party trackers, ad networks, or device fingerprinting. Each pageview records only: the page path, the referring site's domain (not the full URL), any campaign tag (utm_*) you arrived with, a coarse device type (mobile/desktop), and a short-lived random session identifier stored in your browser (cleared when you close the tab). To count unique visitors and prevent abuse we also derive a coarse visitor key from a salted hash of your IP address — we never store your raw IP address. Raw analytics events are deleted after 30 days; only aggregate counts are kept. We honor the browser "Do Not Track" signal. Payment is handled by PayPal on our pricing page; PayPal is a third party with its own privacy policy. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand how CommandShelf is used and to improve it, the app sends small, anonymous analytics events: once when first installed, each time you open it, and periodically (about every 10 minutes) while you are actively using it. Each event contains only: a random installation identifier generated on your device (not derived from any hardware ID, account, or personal information), the app version, your operating system and CPU architecture, and your language/region setting (e.g. "en-US"). It never includes your name, email, IP-based location, or any of your vault contents, commands, prompts, notes, or file paths.

We use this only to measure installs, active users, retention, and aggregate usage time, and to compute an aggregate install-to-purchase conversion rate. We do not use it to identify you, do not sell or share it, and do not combine it with your purchase email. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Privacy. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the product (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Anonymous analytics records are retained for at most 24 months.

What we don't do

  • We don't collect or upload your commands, prompts, or any vault content.
  • We don't sell or share personal data.
  • We don't use third-party trackers, ad networks, or device fingerprinting.

Your rights
